Before Mel found yoga, she found comedy. As a working comedy writer in Los Angeles, she spent years learning the craft of timing, storytelling, and connecting with an audience. That creative foundation would become one of her greatest gifts as a teacher — the ability to meet people where they are, with lightness and truth.
Mel's path shifted when she discovered yoga and meditation as more than physical practice — as a way of living. She immersed herself in study, eventually joining the faculty of the Chopra Center, where she taught alongside Deepak Chopra and David Simon. Over three decades, she has certified hundreds of yoga teachers through her Yoga Alliance-accredited training programs.
Her philosophy, which she calls Into Love, is simple but profound: every practice, every breath, every interaction is an opportunity to move closer to love — love for yourself, for others, and for the life you're living right now.
Today, Mel teaches from her private studio in Hayward, California, leads retreats and immersions worldwide, broadcasts live classes on MelWell TV, and continues to write. Her three books explore the intersection of yoga, self-discovery, and authentic living.
